Soul Shower opens gently with “Nostalgia for Bent,” featuring a lithe boom-bap beat, tinkling piano, pulsing bass, and a magical female vocal. Things get more layered on “Chain Reaction” as the beats are bolder, the music denser, and the vocal snippets strategically deployed.
